Welcome to Utah

Home to great snow and incredible road trips

Let's do the numbers: Utah has five national parks, seven national monuments, two national recreation areas, one national historic site and 44 state parks, all surrounded by five vast national forests and various open lands. Utah is a state of dramatic open spaces. Explore thousands of miles of trails for hiking or biking, thousands of miles of rivers for fishing, paddling or rafting and countless places to stop and savor the fresh air and blue sky surrounding you.

At the heart of it all is the culturally vibrant Wasatch Front, which is home to many of Utah's liveliest metropolitan downtowns, including the capital Salt Lake City (which includes Utah's top cultural attraction: Temple Square), Ogden and Provo. Utah's urban centres are all only minutes from the mountains and a few short hours from The Mighty 5® national parks of Southern Utah (Arches, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Bryce Canyon and Zion) amongst other national and state parks. And in winter, 14 ski resorts revel in the lightest, driest snow — know as The Greatest Snow on Earth® with ten resorts just 40-70 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport.
